VESSELS

LCU

LCU

The Philippine Navy needed a vessel with size and power to transport goods, equipment, and manpower to remote locations. To solve this, the Navy commissioned Propmech to design and build the LCU (Landing Utility Craft), AT296 BRP “Tagbanua”, a vessel designed for logistical missions such as moving troops, equipment and vehicles to far flung areas.

Completed last 2011, the LCU was named after the Tagbanua tribe, one of the oldest ethnic groups in the Philippines found in central and northern Palawan. Construction for the LCU began in November 2010 and is now in use for emergency and relief operations. The vessel has a 200-seating capacity and cargo space that can accommodate an equivalent of six 6×6 military trucks or three Humvees. Such a capacity, combined with its power of a maximum speed of 14 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots, made the LCU an effective naval beast of burden.

MPAC

MPAC

Back in 2007, the Philippine Navy had a vision for a boat that could accomplish various tasks and had multiple capabilities. After presenting their idea to Propmech, the latter designed and developed the MPAC or the Multi-Purpose Attach Craft. The MPAC is a 15-metere long, armoured patrol boat that can reach a max speed of 45 knots.

Today, the MPAC has spanned several variants and is routinely used in various missions like rescue, troop insertion, ambulance, anti-submarine ops, logistics, assault, patrol, and more. The MPAC has ballistic protection, gun and missile capabilities, and can operate on 1m low waters. The MPAC represents the modernization of the Philippine Armed Forces in response to threats and peace maintenance.

Jacinto Class Patrol Vessel

Jacinto Class Patrol Vessel

To increase its combat readiness and response to threats, the Philippine Navy tasked Propmech last December 2015 to restore and upgrade their Jacinto Class Patrol Vessel (JCPV). The project involves the restoration of the vessel’s 76mm gun system and upgrade of its electro optical fire control system and sensors.

Among the upgrades being done are the installation and integration of sensor equipment such as radars, compasses, anemometers, and speed logs. The project is nearing its completion and the vessel will soon be turned over to the Philippine Navy.

FRP Multi-mission Patrol Boats

FRP Multi-mission Patrol Boats

To carry out their patrols with more efficiency, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) commissioned Propmech to design and build Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) Multi-mission Patrol Boats.

The boat is an outboard drive, monohull made of fiberglass reinforced plastic, ideal for transporting personnel and light cargo. BFAR uses the boats for fisheries patrol, reconnaissance, and fishing within protected waters. The boats were ordered in February 2014 and the last of the FRP patrol boats were delivered in May 2015.

MV Semri

MV Semri

The government of Papua New Guinea needed a boat to ferry passengers and cargo around their islands. Propmech responded with the MV Semri, a 21 meter ferry with an inboard engine that helps the economy of Papua New Guinea by transporting food, medicine, good, and people to where they need to be.

FERRY BOAT

FERRY BOAT

To improve tourism in the Philippines, Mabuhay Maritime Enterprises is investing in an undercapitalized segment of the travel industry – sea travel. Mabuhay Maritime partnered with Propmech and world-class Dutch shipbuilder, Damen, last August 2017 to design and develop the first generation expedient inter-island transport called the MV Malambing, a 42m Catamaran fast ferry.

The MV Malambing is the most modern ferry to operate in the Philippines, built to exceed IACS requirements for safety, stability, and comfort. The To make inter-island travel in the Philippines possible, Propmech Corporation also developed commercial ferries. Partnering with world-class Dutch shipbuilder, Damen, Propmech developed the first generation 42m Catamaran fast ferry last 2017. Dubbed the MV Malambing, it is the most modern ferry to operate in the Philippines, built to exceed IACS requirements for safety, stability, and comfort. The ferry can handle over 400 passengers, has a top speed of 28 knots, and has first class and economy seats.ferry can handle over 400 passengers, has a top speed of 28 knots, and has first class and economy seats.
